The “dog days” of summer are upon us and that means that our head’s of hair will be wet more than dry due to our swimming and other outdoor activities and just plain sweating.

Here are a few blow drying tips that will help you in-between visits to Amici’s Hair Salon.

After washing your hair with one of Amici’s featured products, wrap your hair in towel and press with your palms to help absorb as much water as possible. Then use a wide-tooth comb to eliminate tangles. Rubbing your hair dry will cause frizz and make hair harder to style.

To blow dry curly hair have a blow dryer with a diffuser, conditioner, gel and finisher on hand.

Step 1: Apply leave-in conditioner through wet hair
Step 2: Work in gel

Step 3: Set your dryer on low and start at the roots at the back of your neck

Step 4: Smooth and finish with a small drop of Finisher for shine and hold

To blow dry straight hair have a blow dryer with a nozzle, round brush, hair clip, mouse, cream and hair spray on hand.

Step 1: Pre-dry and section hair

Step 2: Apply a root booster to your roots and start at the nape of your neck and work towards the crown.

Step 3: Shape ends and finish

Step 4: Apply styling cream or mist hair spray Be sure to make your summer appointments in advance.
